St. Anthony of Padua (1195–1231), also known as Anthony of Lisbon, was a Portuguese Franciscan friar, renowned preacher, and Doctor of the Church. Celebrated on June 13, he is widely venerated as the patron saint of lost items, travelers, and the poor. He is often depicted holding the child Jesus, a lily, or a book. 

• Life & Ministry: Born in Lisbon, he became a Franciscan priest and was famous for his eloquence and knowledge of scripture. He died at age 36 in Padua, Italy, and was canonized less than a year later.
• Patronage: Beyond lost articles, he is the patron saint of amputees, fishermen, sailors, and pregnant women.
• Devotion: He is considered a powerful miracle worker, frequently invoked for finding lost spiritual goods, aiding in reconciliation, and protection from illness.
• Iconography: Frequently portrayed with the Christ Child, representing a vision he reportedly had. 

• Unfailing Prayer to St. Anthony: "O Holy St. Anthony, gentlest of Saints, your love for God and charity for His creatures, made you worthy, when on earth, to possess miraculous powers".
• For Protection: Prayers often ask for protection from illness and, for children, safety from harm.
